A  Journey of Passion and Dedication

Over a decade ago, Gianluca Varriale arrived in Kenya and instantly fell in love with its beauty, culture, and vibrant hospitality. What began as a personal adventure soon became a lifelong commitment when he met his Kenyan wife and built a beautiful family.

With a deep appreciation for Watamu’s potential, Gianluca set out on a journey to create a service that blends professionalism with a personal touch. Through hard work, passion, and an unwavering focus on quality, Claris African Experience was born.

Today, we proudly manage 20 properties, have hosted over 2,000 guests, and continue to grow with a dedicated team of professionals. The house is beautiful, the staff incredibly kind and helpful, the surrounding by the lake very quiet and with a nice open view, yet close from the main road and walkable to Pili pan.

This place was phenomenal! Brightly decorated and just a 5-minute walk to the Love Island beach (through gorgeous bougainvillea-lined streets) with a friendly (and talented!) chef and house staff, we couldn't ask for more! We made amazing memories at this villa that we'll smile back on for a long time. A little slice of paradise. 10/10, would recommend!

The house was beautiful and in an amazing location! It was a five minutes walk from the best beach in Watamu, where you can also rent sun beds for the day. Very close to restaurants. Easy to communicate with hosts and they were very responsive in helping us book restaurants or other activities.

Gianluca and the team are the best in Watamu ,right from arrival the were very thoughtful and helpful even during odd hours , what a group of incredible people ,definitely coming back again and i highly recommend them especially if its your first time. This was a great, relaxing rental for a friends vacation. It was well-decorated, comfortable, with an excellent pool and veranda hanging out area. The housekeeper/manager Katana secured and filleted fresh snapper for us to cook. It has a nice location - a quick tuktuk ride to reach anywhere you want to go, like Papa Remo, etc. Aircon worked well in rooms. Would book again.
